Robert grew up in the West Virginia Potomac Highlands and worked within his families diversified land management business. He learned about crops, livestock, pasture and timber management. He also learned about commercial retail and serve operations and residential, recreational and commercial development. Resource Management and Agribusiness were studied at West Virginia University and Texas A&M. Robert then spent a year working on diversified agriculture operations in Europe, Asia and Australia. The next 7 years were spent in the banking and investment industry in Delaware and New York and traveling cross country. No longer able to resist the call from home he restored a family property called The Willows (c. 1856), a National Historical Registered house. In 2005 his young family moved home to Moorefield full time and expanded the real estate company his father founded in the late 70’s. Robert has three children, his wife Micheline is a middle school teacher and they are active in the local community serving on numerous boards including Community Theater, Farmland Preservation, County Planning Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Presbyterian Church and Boy Scouts of America.
Robert developed a love of land management from his father and purchased his first property while still in high school. Through Valley Realty he has been able to expand this passion by helping others realize the rewards of land ownership. Robert knows the local market, the history of the land and how to find the best property to meet the needs of his clients.
